335 in shop...135 loaner
With 2300 miles my 09 335 is in the shop for making that whistling, whirring noise that some of you have posted. They gave me a jet black 135 loaner and I must say it is a lot of fun to drive with especially with the sporty m steering wheel - I wish they had this on my 335.

What do you think about the difference in grunt, and handling?

The grunt and handling is certainly more apparent in the 135 - this certainly has to do with the size compared to the 335. I do miss my 335, just saying its fun to drive the 135.

You're lucky! Last time I got a Buick, granted it only had 35km but it's still a Buick... real appropriate for a BMW driver huh

I was in Norway last month, and one of my colleagues has a 118d. This is the hatch version. The 1 series is very popular over in Europe, but is seen very much as an entry level car. I don't care for the interior design very much, and the car feels rather tight inside. But on small Norwegian backroads, the car is a blast. And that little turbo diesel is amazing. 50+ mpg, and a boatload of torque. I find the market positioning of the 1 series here as awkward. I just don't see the point, given how close the pricing, performance, etc. comes to the 3 series.

I have the M sport wheel on my 207 E90. Great mod if you don't have it (ZMP). Tischer has them for a good price.

You don't need the m sport package to get that wheel on the 1. It comes with the regular sports package. The 1 doesn't feel entry level to me at all, but maybe that's because mine is pretty loaded. The only thing better about my e90 is a bit less interior plastic and more room when traveling with the family. I think the 1 fits the bill better as a BMW and being a driver's car.
