jumpy revs, help!

Hey guys, i've had this problem for a while and i don't know what exactly to tell the dealership. My technical car jargon is not very good haha.

Anyways, I think theres an issue with my transmission or just the gauges.

Once i get going, 50+ miles an hour and i accelerate, my revs drop ever so slightly, a little less than a centimeters worth. Then after 2 seconds or so there, it then climbs up back to where it was and continues on its way as i continue accelerating.

Meanwhile, the car is accelerating the whole time, I do not feel it accelerate any more than it did before, after the revs actually start climbing.

This happens all the time, i have done this at various speeds and it usually does it speeds over 50.

This is a Steptronic car and this occurs on D. I have not tried it on DS.

Anyone know what this is? I have a 2007 328i with step so i dont know if you other guys with the same car have this as well.

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Could be the torque converter locking/unlocking? That will change the revs by 10%.

I'd Like to add that sometimes, at lower speeds as well as higher speeds, when i accelerate hard, the revs would go up a bit, maybe .25K then back down to where it was then resume the climb normally.
