Strange dash messages

Hi,

I pressed some combination of buttons the other day because a picture of a yellow oil can appeared on the display by the speedo, and the car started giving me messages in German about version numbers and dates and things.

Did I find some secret mode?! I've got the photos to prove it

... and what did they yellow oil can mean. Oil was on min so I give it a litre and haven't seen it again .. but wouldn't that be a red symbol?

iDriver stayed completely silent to all these messages, and the 'check status' screen told me everything was hunky dory.

The yellow oil is the level, which you corrected. If it's red then it's oil pressure. You simply accessed the test menu by holding the button down too long.
