ECU Reset

Can the ECU be reset on my 320d without going to BMW or disconnecting the battery. I hav done a search and can only find the throttle reset procedure.

No, the ECU can only be reset by one of three tools - BMW GT1 diagnostic machine at a BMW dealer, Autologic machine typically at an independent service centre, or the Bavarian Technic tool (which I think only one or two of us have in the UK).

The throttle reset procedure doesn't actually work on our cars either, incidentally.

What about disconnecting the battery for a few hours then? Will that do it?
