A little help with a window issue

Hi guys, basically my windows get a dirty mark left on them every time u wind them down. I think its the thing between the door cards and the outer door touching the glass. It shouldnt be like that should it? Is this something that shud be done under warranty or how shud i go about fixing it. orrrrr do i just have to live with it? I just love my windows being clean....just gives u that assured visibility. Especially after washing the car and u sparkle up the windows then as soon as u wind them down and back up...a big dirty mark appers as tho u washed the windows with dirty water. Cheers for any help guys!

Is it just like a vertical line, almost looks like a scratch, left on the drop glass?

If so, mines the same!!

Mine is starting to leave the same vertical scratches on my front windows. Noticed it yesterday as it is starting to scratch through the tint film. Not sure where I stand there, as it is not the tint companies fault my car is scratching their tint, but BMW are bound to fcuk the tint up trying to fix it if I take it in.

I don't think so mate - I think it's just a consequence of the glass coming into contact with the winder mechanism when you put the window down.

Think it's something we just have to live with. I have the same problem on my Boxster too.

I basically don't put my window down when I've just had it washed. That seems to help, that is, until my gf gets in the car and immediately puts the window down!!

I always though it was grit, dirt or mould in the glass wiper trim (the faux suede wipe-strip-come-seal that the glass wipes on as it goes down)

Although i haven't had a problem yet, my old 330i went green & mouldy in there and left dirty marks on the glass, so a jug of soapy water and a toothbrush soon cleaned it all up, plenty of clean water to flush out the grit etc. (but not to powerful that it gushes inside the door)
