Removing defroster vent

Hi all,
I've managed to track a rattle on my e90 to the central plastic defroster vent on the dash topside.

Peeking in from the bottom with the front trim&vents removed, two screw bottoms are visible that holds it in place, but their heads aren't exposed from the outer side. Somehow the heads must be uncovered for it to be unscrewed, before it can be padded & reassembled. The getbmwparts pics didn't help.

Any ideas?
