Trading an '08 335iC for a '10 335d...insane?
Hey everyone,
I'm sure this will raise a lot of "what the hell are you thinking" comments, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I test drove a 335d last weekend and I have to say, I absolutely love the diesel engine. The torque curve is enough to make you wet your pants! I've driven many diesel rental cars in Europe and have been a fan of the oil burner for many years. I love the new iDrive too, which is so much more user friendly Living in LA, and having fair British born skin, I'm starting to ponder if a convertible as a daily driver is just a bad idea (even with SPF 30+ I burn)...that, and the current car's past tranny problem, recent HPFP replacement, and iDrive that seems to reset itself once in a while makes me wonder whether to keep it. I've been contemplating the Jetta TDI wagon as a replacement for my '03 Saab 9-5 Aero wagon as well, but part of me says the 335d as the solo car (get rid of the Saab and the 335i) would make a practical choice. Am I completely insane to even consider this? I have been a wagon guy since 1995, but deep down, I only use the practicality once in a blue moon. If only the 335d came in the E91 bodystyle!!! Argh! Cheers, Paul |

Keep the Aero in chip tune it (NORDIC)Are (BSR) trade in the 335i and get the diesel no one on here should rag you for getting the 335d all you would need is a chip tune on that monster.
