Failing door-lock actuators

Hey All, I'm looking for some advice. Recently my door locks on my 06 330i failed. The only way to open the doors is manually with the key. I took my car in to BMW and they said my front two door actuators are shorting, causing the fuse to blow. They said they need to be replace and it will cost $1,200. My car has 56,000 miles and I don't have the extended warranty. Is there a cheaper way of taking care of this problem? Can I buy and replace the parts myself? Any suggestions on what I should do is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
