How much is it REALLY worth ?

My friend is trying to sell his E92.

2007 335i
49.5K miles -
Aw/red coral interior
6-spd manual
Navi
Sport package
NO MODS... has a exhaust in the past thats all..
1 owner, no accidents.

Car is Very clean, only flaw is the common peeling steering wheel..

He says he can get $32K for it LMFAO !!!

I offered him $25K ,

1. Its out of warranty in 500 miles
2. Its a BMW, not a cheap car to maintain ( no honda here )
3. The 335i has its problems ! HPFP FTL

Honestly.... What do you guys this this car is REALLY worth in todays markets ? How much are these things going for at auction ?

Btw.. do alot of you guys have ALOT of black residue on your exhaust tips ? he doesnt really push the car much.. but theres always alot of it... anything wrong ?

He will never, ever get $32k.

Low to mid 20s is much more likely, maybe $25k tops if he sells it privately to someone who really wants it.

with that miles they are still going for 25-27k at the auction. they bring it out sell it for 28500-32k

well shit in my area they are.

and e46 m3 zcp with 30k miles fully loaded are like 34-36k.... i see craiglist cheaper. lol

the cheap ones u see have history on them dont compare that price to a good condition ones. i always get that dumb shit...auction have FRAME Damage 335i also so they average it out with those cars included. its not all that accurate. people dont think about that. also it INCLUDE LEMON LAW cars so the average price is even lower.. think about it if you wanna match auction price.

Same, fact of life for all BMWs pretty much. I clean mine regularly, really bothers me when they're covered in black crap.

32k ain't bad depending on where you live...

the color combo is beautiful so that is a def plus.

just check the KBB value, and the market around you.

Don't worry about what a car sells for a thousand miles away because it will cost money to get it to you....

looking at what is selling in the market around you is the best way to gauge a cars 'true' worth.

GL with your decisions :P
I love AW on red. every time I see one I wish I had gone that route; so if you get it, I highly doubt you'll regret it

Guys - stop killing the value of our beloved 335s! Yes, it's easily worth 32K - probably more! We need to get into the habit of say "yes, it's worth that much and more when people ask these questions!!! It's not a Merc ya know...

Coupes definitely have held their value much better than sedans.

I'd say it's worth 30k.

Wow, that was a really good point!!!

Thanks s1cke92... that point about auction prices is really good... I always found those numbers to be suspicious, and now it's clearer why! Quoting "auction price" seems to be a dealer's #1 tool for giving a bad price on trade-in... it's also hard to argue with, until one is aware of what you pointed out. So thank you! I'm sure that will come in handy some day for many of us.

So why is he selling the car so "early" (by most standards)?

26k is about right. like it said it goes for 25-27k depending on whose bidding and option the car has and condition. but you have to be a dealer to buy those cars. you cant be a normal person and want to get in. you gotta have a dealer/salesmen license and all that. you cant expect to pay $26k those dealers have to make money also.
