BMW will not void your warranty just because you mod your car but they WILL void it if they can prove that the mod damaged the vehicle. Like if you put a CAI on and some how it sucked in water, the dealer can then void the warranty on your engine. This would only void your engine warranty but the dealer would still have to perform maintenace on other parts of your car. An Eisenmann exhaust will not void your warranty, unless it wasn't installed correctly and some how damages a car but then again you would have to be a complete moron to screw up a exhaust install.

Since I upgraded my xenons they won't adjust them for free. The dealer I go to wants $90 to align one of my headlights. They said since they are not stock it voids the xenon bulb warranty. If you get an aftermarket exhaust it will void some part of your exhaust warranty. Some dealers might blame after market parts for certain problems you might get.

Realistically what's becoming more and more popular among the forums is that although yes there are laws that prohibit the voiding of your entire warranty without just cause, if they go ahead and void your warranty, it's going to cost you more out of your own pocket to fight it than pay for w/e it is that gets damaged due to non coverage from your voided warranty.

stealership tried to blame my tint for the rear window for not rolling up/down.....
i haven't laughed so hard in a long time.......they eventually changed it...... i don't get these dealers....it's not like they're paying money out of their pockets.... just make the customers happy and fix it!

If they somehow blame your exhaust for anything... tell em not to do the work.. take the car back.. put the stock one on.. go to another bmw service center... problem solved!

Just put the car back to stock if your car goes in for the repair.

An exhaust is a pretty benign upgrade so I see no reason why it should effect your warranty or car in general. The dealer must prove that an aftermarket modification is causing a specific issue with a car before refusing warranty service. Check out the Magnusson Moss Warranty act.

I put an exhaust on my WRX and my 1st. gear syncro went bad and I was denied . I don't know how BMW is. I know all about they have to prove the exhaust did the damage, but they rely on the customer just giving up, and I did.
