Modifying without the missus knowing

For the first time me and my missus are sharing a car, having previously owned VW's all of which were modded I wanted to do something to my 320d which wasn't too mad. Anyone know of a reliable chip upgrade company and what difference it would make?

Same here; I changed my rear lamps to Blacklines last week, she didn't notice.

Same will go for the Alpine upgrade. She won't notice, I'll guarantee you, even though it will have window tweeters and Alpine badging.

I fitted Blacklines after she insisted it was a waste of money and she would definitely know if I fitted them.

Still no comment 3 weeks after fitment

I reckon I could do the same with a remap, except I'll end up giving the game away chatting to friends after a few drinks LOL

Woe betide me if I ever fail to notice her new shoes in a slightly different colour shade/strap design though

Well we seem to have alot of yellow Selfridges bags in the house so I think she does a little more shopping that I know about.

I looked on the Evolve site and it's like £500 but from the positive comments it has recieved it seems worth it.

I could stick an Escort Cosworth spoiler on the back of mine and she wouldnt notice.
Best comment ever was regarding nealry 2k worth of home cinema equipment 'Dont really think it sounds any different to the TV' This is with the sub making the house move during the start of saving private ryan.

DO NOT ever replace your exhaust and ask the dealer to send it back to your place of work.
I replaced my rangie rover sport supercharged with a quicksilver item (brill sound) but they sent it to my home instead
If you do do this PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT HOME AND NOT THE MISSUS when they deliver it>>

tell me about it, no matter what I do she spots it, just changed the grills 10 sec being home "oh you changed the grills" followed by "they look brill "

Amazingly no comments about spending 4 hours fitting the brake cooling ducts

WIll see what she says when I get evolve to do their thing

You need to justify it to her. Tell her about the better fuel mileage you will get with the tune. A little money up front will save you and her a lot of money down the road.

Got my tune and wheels this way.

The OH just caught me looking at 225M rims on Ebay.

All she said was 'No way'

Ho-hum, she'll change her tune when I show her the price I can get for my 18s, and add in the cost of a couple of replacement runflats

Yeah my run flats are about $1000 and a new set of wheels is $1400, or at least that is what I tell her and I pull some cash to supplement that from my stash and she is none the wiser.

The best time for a remap has to be at service time

If the Mrs notices any improvement just say they must have adjusted something during the service along with I never thought is was running too well when we got it

I installed the Blaupunkt Amp..told the Wife is was the brains of the Radio as the new radios are just a piece of display behind the dash so as thieves don't knick the radios. I also got the Re Map switch from Imran (even tho the sofware would not work on my ECU ) I told here this was also part of the control for the radio

See spends her days shopping in Dublin and I am sure there are more shoe boxes in the wardrobe than this time last year!
