phone microphone poor

I have just dropped my car off at the dealer because people say they cant here me on my car phone, the sound at there end is poor quality. BM said it might be because I use an Iphone has any one else had these problems. I asked them to change the microphone under warranty and give that a go.

It's VERY directional. If you sit low or far back, or if you turn away while talking then the reception is affected.

You have to talk clearly AT the mike.

Can't say I've found it phone-specific and also no problems with SQ either making calls from the car or recieving calls from 'er indoors from the car.

It's miles better than many of the OEM Bluetooth phone kits I've used.

Make sure your iPhone is updated to 3.0.0 as there were some known compatability issues with BMW before this update.

The other thing you need to do is to increase the Bluetooth volume to max on the phone rather than just increase the volume on the radio.

To do this, make a call from the car and then push volume up button on the iPhone until the bluetooth volume is at max.

I have not had any issues since doing this.

Actually, where is the microphone on these things?

The only obvious place is up near the interior lights

It's up in the centre front roof console area as far as I recall.
