many thanks to all from evolve
the set up via the switch system was a little prolonged as my computer didnt recognise the USB lead
a simple call to evolve put me on the correct track
10 mins later a new map was in the car
i have yet to travel out of town to give it some but so far am mightily impressed with smoothness and power delivery
I have just looked up 730 nm as 540 lb ft!!!!!
Tomorrow I will get into 3rd gear....

I have heard nothing but positive remarks from Evolve, I definetly will be taking my 320d to them to have a remap upgrade. End of September I think.

The 335d is a good car standard but with a map its a beast.

Got my Evolve Switch on Monday evening - Imran and team got my map back on Tuesday.
What can I say? An "Evolved" 320d is awesome! Well worth the money - turned a quite nice, but quite ordinary car into a real pleasure!
I had downgraded from a 535d last year when fuel costs were becoming crazy and I thought the whole country would go bust - and (unsurprisingly) I never felt the 320d had enough grunt for overtakes. Okay, okay, enough, but with much more careful planning than in a 535...
The 320d is a lovely, wieldy, car - a pleasure to drive - as the 535d could feel a bit of a barge at times (if a very fast barge..).
The Evolved 320d is just sweet. Astonishing for a 2L diesel. Can't imagine what an Evolved 335d is like (except awesomely quick..).
I can't recommend highly enough :-)

Can a car me mapped without it being taken to evolve ?.From a usb lead what is this in the OP .

can they just upload a map via the web ?

hi mate thats exactly the same dillema I had I kept arranging to go up there and had to let them down due to last minute work changes
the switch unit comes through the post- i ordered mine about 3pm on monday and it was in my hands in hampshire by 11 the next morning
you connect to your computer with usb lead provided (mine couldnt find the usb driver but did after a call to evolve put me right 2 mins on phone)
then you connect to the car through the lead provided
the unit reads the map
you send it via the usb lead by email to evolve
they by return email send you the new map
you put map on unit via usb lead
lastly connect unit back to car and download map to car
it tells you exactly what to do and when to do it
to be honest the hardest things to do were to
1 hide receipt from wife
2 hide box from wife
3 connect usb lead to computer
4 find connection slot in drivers footwell
it really is that simple
slightly more ££ than a remap but i have more important things to do than drive to luton on my occassional day off!!
and also it is now transferable with new maps ( that i have to purchase)
seems to good to be true!
£629.00 all in

Sounds very tempting!! Do you have to do anything special while you upload the map to the car? Take fuses out? Put the car into engineer mode and hop on one leg?

nothing at all just pretend to be sorting your cd s when she looks thru the window!!!!!!!!!!!!after all that SHE ONLY WENT AND FOUND THE RECEIPT
MY FAULT FOR REPLYING TO AN INTERNET FORUM AND LEAVING IT AROUND I SUPPOSE
just softened the blow by booking a holiday not sure I have entirely got away with it tho.......
