ccc module

Could anyone tell me whats involved in reprogramming a replacement ccc module.

Mine has been diagnosed as faulty, they say they need the car for 3-5 days.

What is stored on the module. I assume its the whole entertainment module. radio, CD, CD Changer, phone control, voice control.

Reason Im asking, is cause was wondering if they would add the CD changer function, its already been installed. Fibre optics all done

They could in theory add the CD changer option for no additional charge. I believe it's just a matter of ticking a box.

The 3-5 days bit is bollocks though. The software update takes a few hours.

It's temperamental though because the car has to be in sleep mode and if they so much as open a door during the process the upgrade will fail.

The CCC module had failed on my previous 330i when I went to pick it up from the showroom brand new!!!

Passed PDI one day, failed by the next.

They kept the car over night but it was ready the next morning, all replaced and reprogrammed.

That was 3.5 years ago when these were quite new, now they should be very familiar with them.

Maybe I should just keep quiet and not mention that it has not been enabled. Then when it gets back, ask why it ain't working anymore. I really don't want to pay them to tick a box

They will code it to the original spec + any add ons noted.
If you ask nicely they would probably do it with the re code for no charge.

If the CCC is faulty then presumably the radio and CD are affected?

Just 'remind' them that it has a CD changer and ask them to make sure they code for it.
