Shift knob insert

I ordered a ZHP shift knob and it came with the M logo gear shift pattern. I removed the M emblem and was trying to put in my original 6 speed insert. It fit good, but like an idiot I thought I should tap it with a hammer, so I cracked it. Any ideas on where to get one of these non M 6 speed inserts? Or any other ideas.

You may want to consult with the retailer you purchased the item from. If the purchase was 2nd hand, try Tischer BMW, a vendor on this forum.

Otherwise, the the crack adds character to your knob. You can tell the kids that your phenomenal shifting caused the damage. I won't tell them what really happened. This will be our little secret.

Just go to bavauto.com and buy it there. They have it and I have bought it from them before.

With a pocket knife. You can try pinching or cutting a little through it to pry it off. Since you're not keeping it you can damage it to take it out, just avoid scratching the shift knob!
