Exclamation Planning to buy E92 335i. Need Help!!

Im new in this community.
Im planning to buy used E92 335i.

So I need you help guys..

Would you recommend buying automatic or manual? and why?

I searched over the forum that there's many tuning boxes available for 335i, which one would you recommend buying? I read somewhere that vishnu is worst thing to put on 335i.

My friend has new 370z (MT) and I need to beat that so what I need to do for 335i to beat that datsun?

The A/T shifts faster than 99% of the people that drive this car, so it's really just a matter of preference. From a maintenance standpoint the manual is easier to maintain and will last well over 100k miles. The A/T is uncertain. ~100k miles before they have problems.

I've heard a few people burning up clutches in the manual's, and the dealer usually tries to cut out of covering it, so I would go with the paddle shifter option if I were you. Remember for two grand, you have coverage through 6 years 100k miles

As for a chip, the one I see the most people happy with is the JuiceBox 3 (JB3)

With just that, your 335i will smoke the 370z.

Im not sure if they still have the free AT going on now or not..

The auto in the BMW is a VERY good auto and it was hard for me to choose. Nearly two identical cars for me, both black on black Msports one with manual, one with AT.

I chose the manual. the at may be a tenth quicker, 0-60, but its all about fun level, preference, etc. Its also about how you drive.

if I lived in Atlanta or LA or NY and had to sit in sardine can traffic all the time, Id buy the AT (or wouldnt drive the BMW most likely).

The Manual is just more "enthusiast".

If the BMW steptronic sucked like most other autoboxes, it would be an easy decision. But its not..

I for one didnt really care for the paddles. they felt cumbersome to me, and I prefered sport mode over manual.

Id say get an auto with the paddle shifters and get the juicebox 3 with a bms or injen dual cone intake. It will certainly help your car breathe better and you will be pushing close to 400hp on a pretty much stock car.

I was thinking to get AT too because most of time I drive on city and I can allways have fun with paddle shifters when I want to

I live in the ATL an have a manual. Rarely drive my 335i in traffic though. Once a week to work and I drive my truck to the airport. Probably would go with the auto if I had to drive in rush hr traffic 5 days a week. Test drove the auto and it is a nice trans.
