I am looking at an 08 e93 and it lists ZPD as an option...but it does have a small sharkfin antenna on the trunk....so what exactly does the ZPD option do? because I thought it was meant to take away the shark fin antenna

On my 2007 335i E93, I ordered the ZPD option (satellite radio delete) and I have no shark fin in the middle of the trunk. Maybe something changed or there is a problem with the options list.

My 09 e93 does not have satellite radio but has that shark fin. It is Nav antenna

I have an E92, but mine does not have Nav or Satellite radio but it does have HD and it has the fin...guess it's multi-purpose?

The fin does everything from AM/FM/Sat to GPS and BMW Assist. I'm not 100% sure with the E93, but all E90/91/92 cars have the fin regardless of options.

Shark fin is used for anything to do with receiving information from Satellites (GPS/Sat Radio/Assist). It is standard on all US spec BMW's.

Maybe someone did a 'mod' by putting the fin on LOL

It has nav...so that explains the sharkfin....sadly, i will be getting the 09 xi instead as i don't want to deal with the trouble of that DIY for sirius w/o the sat prep

yeah, its an 08 vert without sat vs. 09 392 xi with sat

both have iDrive and i really want sat as my 07 e92 i just sold had it

You do not need the shark fin to have nav - on the E93, the only thing the shark fin does is sat radio and many people on the forum have successfully ordered an E93 with the shark fin delete and everything works just find without it except sat radio.

Weird that the car lists the shark fin delete option, but has one though!

well the idrive and sat radio is a factor, but for me, if it was vert vs. non-vert, I'd take the vert lol

vert is 43800 cheapest m3 coupe i can find is around 50

+1 I have no fin on my E93 (satellite prep delete) and do have a fully funtional Navi and BMW Assist.

I would think that car does not have ZPD, it's a misprint, and that you can go ahead and install satellite radio.

how many miles??

i see 07 verts selling for that much... 08 verts sell for high 40s, low 50s.... at least thats what cars.com and autotrader.com have showed me

I guess I got a steal this past February for my 15 month old 07 with 15k miles. I got it modded and it came with the original 189s for $36k...

Sport, Premium, Nav, Heated seats, 6spd Manual, full warranty. It was only 15 months old (OCt 2007 in service date).

Mods included V2 coilover suspension, iForged Drift 19" wheels, AA BOV, and AA Procede re-map.

The previous owner had to pay bills. Felt bad "stealing" the car from him for $36k.

He purchased it full MSRP ($55k). At least you got a huge discount with European Delivery.
