noticed whilst having new front brakes fitted! Its attatched to the intercooler!

On a serious note it is the mounting bracket for the twin intercooler.

Yours doesn't appear to have it Carl.

Your car could be a 'parts bin special' when they ran out of the twin 'coolers on the production line.
