New to this so please bear with me! When I put my key fob in the ignition, everything come on.. radio aircon etc, but when I push the start button the engine won't crank! I called out the AA breakdown and he couldn't find out what was wrong, but disconnected the earth from the battery, re-connected it and hey presto! The problem is, if its left for an hour or two I get the same problem! Im getting bounced around with all sorts of answers, one being the fob reader in the dash. I can't see this as why would disconnecting the battery cure this? A mate plugged a simple code reader in, but shows no faults! Please help.

I don't think there is much more you can do but bok it into a stealer/BMW Specialist for diagnosis/repair.

Manual or auto gearbox?
