Newbe: Advice need on e92 bulbs/headlights
Hi there,
Firstly, I realize that this topic has been covered way too many times for people to even bother replying...but any assistance would be greatly appreciated [too many options out there and its all too confusing]. I have a e92 320d coupe in white [58 plate] and hate the amber/orange front light rings. I have seen many alternatives but my questions are: 1. Will removing the old bulbs/lights invalidate the UK warranty? 2. I am looking for rings which are as 'white' as possible. Most of the ones I have seen are either blue or have a blue tinge which I don't like. Also, I am looking for lights that aren't too blinding and should offer the same performance as standard lights [just different colour]...I think the colour Temperature here plays an important part [Kelvin value]? [or am I trying to be clever?] 3. What are the buying costs in the UK [or abroad] and are there any installation guides or videos? 4. Can the internal lights around the back seats be changed to white too? If so, question 3 applies. 5. finally, lights aside, any place I can purchase carbon fibre interior trims and will this invalidate the warranty [I have the horrible aluminium stuff]. Much appreciated folks - I'm sure somebody has the answers. |

From what i understand changing bulbs will not invalidate your warranty. If you have the rings already you dont need to replace them, just the bulbs which light them, they sell LED ones in most places, H8 fitment are the ones you need i think, maybe someone else can confirm that, although dont hold your breath.

H8 35w is the correct firment, GP thunders 7500 and 8500 (more blue) are a good cost effective upgrade, Evolve do them for around £20 a pair, LED markers are supposed to be whiter, but cost circa £100-150

I have had both GP Thunder 8500 and The LED angel eyes. Started with the GPs and bought the LED which have a blue tint to them but do look good at night as the rings fully illuminate and they do not dim. During the day they are useless as they are hardly visible. Went back to the GPs until one blew so now back with the stock bulbs. To be honest I am happier with stock than either of the others as they work the best as daytime runnning lights. Kinda wasted something like £130 in total coming to that conclusion.
