E91 - where's my aerial?!

Seen sharkfins on a few E91s but nothing on mine (SE) - any ideas?! Radio reception seems fine!

No idea! Just used to having an aerial I can see. Or is it built into the rear window?!

The radio aerial is in the back window - I believe they are the wires running vertically, whereas the heating elements run horizontally.

As I understand it, the sharkfin is the antenna for bluetooth, gps and BMW Assist only...

Cheers all! Rather well hidden then and much "cleaner" than most aerials. Another BMW plus point...!

Tbh, very few cars have had 'aerials' for some years.

Bee sting on my 02 golf Vr6 was the last one I had. No aerials since then.

Much cleaner (and cheaper for manufacturers of course)

All my cars to date (latest being 55 reg) have had visible aerials - even the R32 Golf (late 03). Maybe it's a higher end car thing? Saves having to take it off in town though!

It's the BOSE system with 6-disc changer in the dash too. God knows why it's still got a tape. Ironically, it's become the most used part of the system as it's the only way (bar an FM Transmitter) to connect your ipod by using a tape adapter. I feel sorry for those poor sods, Stevie Hoops & RealThing, with their GTRs as they have the same system but without the tape and so can only use a crappy FM Transmitter. Must be awful driving a GTR knowing that .
