For reference, BMW production status codes

This is repost type info but I bet a bunch of people are looking for it lately!

Call 800-831-1117

Wait for options menu and punch 2 or say 'vehicle production status'...you can then enter or say the production number or last 7 of VIN to get status.

Reference table below...or you can ask for customer service to find out exactly where you stand. Your CA has access to the same system.

Codes 170 throgh 176 deal with a completed car going to "workshop". It seems a normal part of the production process according to BMWNA. Anybody has any specific information on what takes place at the workshop?

I think workshop is where they do testing/track it...mine pretty much went straight from 160 to 190 pretty quick.

Greg:

Mine has been waiting to go to workshop at code 170 for a whole week. It is ED for Octboer 10th. The fact that it is only a couple of hours train ride away at Regensburg may explain the lack of urgency to get it through the workshop.

I can't help but worry something is seriously wrong with it. I spent too much time folowing the thread about one of the first coups in Canada that had an engine grenade.

I'm sure it is fine and if not they can build about 10K more before October 10th!
