As much as I love Porsche I am not sure about that ass!! But in general it's just cheaper 911 Carrera without two extra seats.

what do you want in a car??

M3'll be faster straight line, Cayman S will corner better

Cayman's not slow, and the M3 will corner well

both are great cars, what's your priority? handling or straight line?

cayman. BMWs are getting too piggy to be called as a "sports car".

lol well i prefer curves more as there are many many more than straight aways..

caymans top spees is 172 but thats obviously not important..

i think if i really liked straight line id go z06 vette lol (not bloody likley)

Cayman S is a great car but

that is not a good deal. New 2006 Cayman S's are going for over 10K below MSRP at various dealers.

I don't the answer, I just want to comment that this comparo comes up remarkably often. It seems strange. Z4 vs. Cayman/Boxster I get. But 335i vs. Cayman...

I had a cayman S on order; Porsche marks up their cars more. One will get better discounts. I never heard of anyone getting 10k off a Cayman S except for maybe an '06 demo model. I got 8% off MSRP off an ordered '07 with light options. But, I cancelled and got the 335i instead for various reasons, mostly cost.

I'd probably do the same. For the amount of performance the 335 is packing it's a pretty damn good deal.

a stupid comment as he knows this is not true for a new cayman not an S. I have seen others get 5k off but 10k is a lie.

This is reported by several members of caymanclub.net (visit and do a search). Stevens Creek Porsche in northern CA was willing to deal that much on their left over 2006.

That Cayman-S Coupe is very sexy looking. I love the smooth, round curves, and quite frankly, I like its looks better than the 911 Carrera.
