Big thanks to Evolve Automotive
As a previous E36 M3 owner I switched to an E92 330D. Now don't get me wrong the 330 is a great car but after driving the M I found it a little bland and just lacked the excitement. Having owned the 330 for nearly 18 months I actually was starting to consider chopping it in for another M car but with the market as it was decided some mods might bring back the excitement. Some reading of posts on here and lots of googling I decided to go with the Evolve Switch remap, and boy am I pleased with it!
Just wanted to say a public thank you to Imran @ evolve who offered me the group buy price and great service. I installed it at the weekend and its so very easy to use (see the sticky for instructions), and now the car is just so much more driveable. I haven't had chance to get it on the rollers but it no-longer feels like a diesel (barely any lag below 2K rpm) and the power delivery is both smooth and responsive. Anyone with a diesel who is still undecided, just do it... and don't tell the missus! Mine keeps asking why I keep blatting it with a big grin on my face Now I have the modding bug so time to hide the credit card receipts |

I've been in a heavily modified 330d Manual (Ant at SpeedReligion's stage 2 upgrade) and the difference between that and mine was sublime. The remap itself does add the majority of this improvement (so I beleive) and so a normally remapped 330d must still go like the absolute clappers.
Always wanted to do this to mine but as it was always an option to give it to the missus (the car!!) I never bothered. Enjoy the new lease of life and, at the price, massively cheaper than changing cars.

Haven't had chance to get it on the rollers yet. Evolve claim the following improvements:
- 60 bhp @ 4250rpm - 40-50 bhp extra through rpm range - 97 lb.ft torque @ 2500rpm - 80 lb.ft torque extra through rpm range So based on 241bhp before I would guess at around 285bhp after, and torque pushed from 415lb/ft to ~505lb/ft Hope to get a day free when I can put both maps in and get it on the rollers for a comparison. |

What is the "average price" for this remap ?
I have been quoted £1499, as a performance package from Kar Tecnic, which is a local specialist in German Cars BMW Performance front & rear brake upgrade (I do not do track days etc) and Kartechnic engine remap = £1499.95 . |

Andy is yours a manual or auto?
Mine is manual and I have heard it gains more power from the remap than an auto...

Its a manual. Have had plenty of cars remapped before and in all honesty they have felt "slightly" better. This is a massive jump and well worth it. In SE London if you want a spin before you commit
