What's the latest Sat Nav HD installation version?

Hi All

I have recently took delivery of a new e92 (59 plate) with the Professional Sat Nav.
The version is identified as:
ECE
BMW
1.24
Roadmap Europe Premium 2008-2

Is this the latest version? the salesman say it is but I would have thought a 2009 version would be out by now?

The guy at the dealer says the next version will not be out till March 2010?

My e90 is an May 09 car and I have the same version of Sat Nav as you, I have also been told this is the 'current' released version and any updates will be £££

They are not being released in sync with the disc-based sat nav, which gets updates much more frequently

yup mine is a July build and has the same version. I don't think the versions are parallel with the old idrive as they get the data from a different company though. Although i can't imagine they haven't released an 09 version by now in anycase.

The version 02-2009 was released in Germany at the end of August for the HD Sat Nav. I imagine it should also be available in the UK by now.

+1 - BMW give you a better HDD based system and then install an older map

Oops - when I checked mine, it is 2009-2 as well. Surely the DVD version cant be two versions ahead of the HDD version?

If so, that is ridiculous!!

Crazy innit!!!!

....and to make matters worse, the owners manual talks about an update routine where you insert the updated DVD into the drive and it will update the HDD based maps etc. In real life, you have to take it to the dealers and have it plugged in and updated via a computer

It is, I checked with my supplying dealer shortly after taking delivery. I assumed the maps would be 2009-1. After reading on the forum that a new 2009-2 update was launched only a week after collecting the car, I wanted it installing FOC. AFter checking the i-drive turned out I was already a version out of date (now 2 versions behind )

The numbering for the HDD versions is different from the DVD Sat Navs.

yes I'm not sure that its that out of date. One version yes not two. as even with the 08 version it has some reasonably new roads properly mapped out.

My HDD version in 2008-2, the car was built in Feb 09.

Dealer said new version out about now, but they reckon update is via whole-car-update.

This seems like cobblers as the manual shows updating of the HDD nav via a DVD, which would seem sensible.

You probably will still have to pay for it same as the older systems (officialy)
