Exclamation Front Speakers Vanished?!

Hi,

I've an 08 335d with the BMW Individual Sound System.

Driving along the other day, music not playing particularly loudly, and suddenly the front speakers cut out. All the sound was coming form the rear speakers and the subs.

Tried resetting the iDrive (power & eject) with no result, also tried all sources (iPod, radio) to make sure it wasn't just a dodgy iPod cable. Same on everything - even on the phone.

Called the dealer, booked it in while driving along the motorway.

Stopped at the services and took the key out, put it back in ... still the same. Went for a quick break, came back, and they were working again.

Any suggestions as to what happened? I canceled the dealer appt as if there's nothing wrong I don't know what they are going to be able to do - but I'm a bit nervous something has gone dicky.

Ta

Thats what happens when you go for a budget sound system

Tis annoying when you have an intermittent problem - can be so hard to diagnose. Good Luck

Faulty wire? Something shorting? As said above, tough to diagnose and will be a 'Can't replicate fault' notice by the tech.
