HPFP? Blown-off vacuum hose?
On a highway on-ramp, I stepped into my car's throttle a little more than normal last night.
Right around the time I expected to feel boost, the car seemed weak and the yellow check engine (half-engine) light came on. There seemed to be a slight bit of studder, but I could not hear anything. The car continued to drive as normal all the way home, but with noticeably less power. I pulled off the side of the road, turned off the car and started it up again. No more CEL. I cautiously continued my drive home and decided to see if I could feel any boost so I gave it a moderate amount of throttle. CEL came back on, and the car just continued to drive as if the turbo were completely disengaged. The car starts up fine. No long crank. The engine idles smoothly and I don't detect any odd noises with my windows down. I'm stock, under warranty, and the car is now being serviced at local dealer. Yet I am really concerned about my engine and am wondering what might have happened. Does anyone here care to take a stab at what it is? For what it is worth, I just had my actuators replaced and flashed to latest software about 10 days ago. |
