Dates for Powerchip Custom Tuning in Houston
There was a lot of interest in having a Powerchip representative fly out to Houston to perform custom dyno tunes on our cars, but the dates Mike proposed in October didn't work for a lot of people. Let's try to find dates that will work for as many people as possible.
In the poll, please select ALL dates for which you'd be available. Obviously, these are subject to Powerchip's availability.

Make your selection in the poll so we can keep track of everyone. Unfortunately, I can't vote for you.

I've tried to post in the original thread but it won't let me... something about the bump counter?
Can anyone else still post? I voted as well. I'm allowed to, right? Tom, is it possible for you to remove the Nov 20-22 option? I have a business trip scheduled for that weekend and will not be able to make it on those dates.

Sorry for asking, but is there a link to any more information on this powerchip custom tune?
1. Price? 2. Performance / other benefits? 3. Anything in particular for DCT? 4. What the effect on warranty can BMW see this tune? 5. If ECU is updated by BMW during service maintenance does this wipe it out and if so is there any special deal to (lower price) for getting it reapplied? Sorry again if all this is already posted somewhere. I'd be interested in doing this since I head down to Houston every few months to visit family.

Mack211: The orginial thread is located here:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297678 Do a search for Powerchip and you'll see a lot of posts about the benefits. My understanding is that BMW dealerships do not have the equipment to detect the presence of the tune. If the ECU is updated (like for a DCT update), Powerchip will charge $100 for a re-flash. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but did I read somewhere in the originial thread that Mike would waive ths $100 re-flash fee the first time or perhaps during the first year? |

I believe Mike said he'd work with those of you with DCT who might be getting a future update soon for the lag issue. Once your car has been dyno tuned and the map saved, it's a very simple matter of reflashing it through the OBDII port if overwritten by a BMW software update.

Can you make it the Nov. 13-15 weekend, which currently looks like the best bet? At least you and Nawaaz and maybe others can take turns being the rabbit down I45 South.

Most likely. I don't really want to commit to anything and back out because I usually never know this far in advance if I will be busy
