Boost pressure sensor takes 1+ week to fix???
This is just my rant about my local dealer. I had a malfunction light that came on a few weeks ago that went away a day later. Called the dealer up and had the car in the week after (had a JB+, removed of course). Dealer said something about a boost pressure sensor "somehow" malfunctioned and needed to be replaced, and it takes a day or two to ship it. So I said OK and took a 328 loaner. SA calls me two days later and said uh apparently we ordered the wrong parts, just realized it (end of the day), and are in the process of ordering the right part and it'll take another 3-4 days to come in. Fine. I waited, dealer called at the end of 4 days and said, uh, your part is installed but we are now downloading a certain software that you need for the new part, will take a day to upload it (???). So now 8 days later, today, called my SA and he said apparently, the computer is still downloading said software. I was like did the tech not realize the past 8 days that he's had my car that he needed this software? His reply, "apparently not."
So why do ppl hate visiting stealerships again? |

+1.. but for minor stuff and regular maintenance I just go to an independent shop.. don't want the hassle of having to remove all mods and worry about them taking test drives in my car

That's what I do. If this is the sensor I'm thinking of, it is $95 from Tischer and you could put it in yourself.

I'm not quite sure exactly what's going on. For all I know the dealer's probably dinking around the car to figure out if I had a tune. |

Just got off the phone w/ my SA. Still not done. He said he's not even sure what they are doing, just still "updating software" and should be done tomorrow.
WTF man. It takes 3 days to download and upload some software to my car? What do they have 28K connection over there? Bunch of ass monkeys pisses me off... |

Stories like this is why my car has never been back to the dealer. I got there when it was still on the truck, waited for them to unload, prep it, and drove it off, never to return.

I feel your pain; I took mine back last Monday for the airbag recall on my 08. I left it with them and they gave me a ride home. Spent the whole day waiting on them and then they called at 4pm and said I could come and get it. I get them to pick me up from home and when I get there they say they didn't have the parts to do the job, but they changed my oil ,wipers and washed my car in there automatic washer which I had explicitly told them not to do. I was like why didn't you just reschedule my appointment so I could have had my car and not had a completely wasted day. So now I have to go back this Monday and do it all over again. The car is completely de-modded now for the service visit and I miss my procede and intake! Not to mention I have my VK down pipes just waiting for me to put them on...very irritating!
Then what I don’t get they said something about my map sensor and software that may need to be updated with this. Map sensor has absolutely nothing to do with air bags and what update would a airbag recall need?
