Gauging Interest

I've been thinking about a change recently and have been weighing-up a few options, one of which would involve selling the e92 (but probably not until Dec/Jan), although could consider a timescale to suit the right circumstances.

It's a Jan 2008 57 plate with 31k miles on it (mainly motorway), good spec and lovingly cared for (full e90post history!).

It's still early days, but thought I'd stick some feelers out - pics in my garage.

In brief: e92 335d SE, Sparkling Graphite with Coral Red Leather, M3 boot lip, front splitter, 230's (which are likely not to be sold with the car, suitable replacement will be used), shadowline, black grills/emblems. Rest is in the signature.

Because they are newly refurbished and don't seem to be an option on new e92's. Not yet sure what I'll put on yet. Nothing's concrete, just running through different options/thoughts.

I am thinking 'i'

Fancy a change, but will need to try one first - good chance I'll miss the torques. The 335d's been my first really nice car, so I've never owned a quick petrol. Am thinking auto as I think I've got a bit lazy with the superb big d box.

Why not, and there is a lot going for the i.

The difference in running costs is evening out, and I think the days of better residuals for diesels is coming to an end.
The sound of an i is infinitely better than a D,with arguably more power at the top end, worth a test drive if nothing else.

The low down instant torque will definitely be missed, but there are compensations with the i.

You will miss the massive bottom end of the 335d. You will love the sound though of the i..

Some petrol engines give a good compromise of torque and revs.

Swings and roundabouts Ed, all that lazy torque coupled to an auto box easy, enjoyable fun or more work for more reward? All subjective, but the latter perhaps a more involving drive?

Choices, choices...........

I think if you want a more involving drive, a 335i wont cut it, better off with a manwel M3.

Wouldn't that be too much of chalk and cheese power delivery wise perhaps? Ed would have to go and have a play to find out.

Yeah but he wants change, now a change to a 335i is not major. Very similar. A little change which im sure will satisfy to an extent. Noise etc.

For a major change then the M3 will be far more challenging im sure you will agree.

Will you test drive an M3 also ed..!?
