BMW Dealer ECU reprogram
I had my HPFP changed this week and now my car feel noticably slower... wtf.
How can I tell if they reprogrammed my ecu, and more precicely which rev. AM I currently runnning. 30.3, 33.3??? Correct me if I am wrong in assuming that with a April 07' build date I was runing the non-doomsday, pre-29.2 programs ?? like 25.2

call Doc Brown, tell him to fire up the DeLorean and take you back to the day before you brought the car in for service!

If they did replace your software with a newer version, most people feel the latest version is pretty close to 29.2, but the options are to tune it, flash uses 29.2 as the base, or a procede or jb3 have lag fix and other tricks to fix the issues of the new software package

Maybe a transmission adaptation reset, is your car auto?.... If so, just pound on your car some (Closed course only ofcourse) and your car will get back into the swing of things.

Sometimes its adaptation, I've found I needed quite sometime before the car
felt different after a HPFP install. Sometimes the software is upgraded. |

I just recently had my HPFP replaced (24,000 miles) and they didn't so a software upgrade. I also noticed immediately that the car felt sluggish so I took it back and complained. I spoke with the shop foreman and he told me it would take a while for it to be back to normal as the HPFP needs to "adapt". Hose were his words. After a few days my car was a beast in stock form all over again. Throttle was definetely improved compared to when I was running an soon to fail pump. |

I think its in your head...
I got my HPFP replaced and they did the software upgrade, its noticably different, the idrive screen is silver instead of brownish like before and now it stays on whatever I had it on when i shut the car off. For instance i like to have my nav going and now it remembers when i start the car when before it would default to the menu page. Anyway the car feels the same. I'm wondering if people with multiple failures are due to no software change? My tech said its the norm when replacing a HPFP.

last year: the minute i got sw updated with 29.2 i had a fit ! damn lag was so noticeable. as u guys know 32.x and 33.x fixed this... but the newer 34.x is not supposed to be very good at all.

Mine is a early 07 model so maybe it is? According to the bmw service info for my car (i bought it cert. pre owned) this was the first software update. I don't notice any lag, never have.

OK, the verdict was thet the did a Transmission reset reprogram. "Trans. Reprog." so my 6AT will take some time to readapt. it's just a longhold before it downshifts... it's in a form of "economy" shift scheme, where it's always 1 gear higher than I'd like. So As my SA said... put my foot into it and it'll be back to normal soon.
