Cool Audi RS5 spypics - red and uncovered front

This is the best pics yet and best mule yet of the upcoming RS5. The front end is pretty much exactly how it'll look on the road. Looks beastly in red yet classy. I think this car is gonna look great.

Thats true, the last time we saw the RS5, almost certainly there were flared out fenders. Can't wait for the next set of pics.

I think only the bumper is making the reappearance from last time and it still looks very ugly especially if that is where they plan to mount the license plates.

Cool

Hmm, that certainly doesn't have the flared rear fender like the camo-test mule from a month ago.

I like the aggressive front bumper, but something tells me this isn't the RS5, but maybe a slightly redesigned S5.

It is the RS5. It only has the front treatment with new grille and bumper. Under the hood has the new engine.

Why are people getting confused? lol. This car is in testing and on this particular prototype it doesnt have all the other bodywork. I guarantee this is the RS5 though.

I take it that these pictures are of an early example, probably tested prior to the matt black that's been hammering around the ring for the last few months.

Do you whether it's still using the 4.2L unit from the old RS4 or is it a new as yet unseen engine?

No idea at all Footie. The latest I heard was 4.2 V8 with 450bhp. Audi have been known though to test different engines in testing.

That was the latest I had heard about it as well.

I rarely ever say this...but engine specs aside, that is a gorgeous car no matter what.

I've been following the RS5 development for a while now and I am not so sure that it is indeed the 4.2L under the bonnet. In a lot of the most recent spy shots it's quite clear that it's got intercoolers, or should I say that is which they appear to be, if they are as I believe then to be then Audi have either been fooling us all or there has been an about turn on it's final engine choice.

I don't know, there is something fishy about these only being additional radiators, every other Audi I can think of that has had these things positioned here has turned out to be turbo charged.

The RS5 is going to have FI. Probably a V8TT from the RS6.

Never been a fan of the A5, and the RS model continues that. Not sure why.... "bland" comes to mind but, seemingly that would be incorrect.
