Question about Intercooler Efficiency

Hey guys had a quick question that may spur some debate.

For warranty reasons I do not want to tune my car just yet (lets not make this a warranty debate). However, I am considering an intercooler... either the Stett, AA or AMS unit. I know the stock intercooler is a piece of junk and heat soaks badly BUT are there any disadvantages of running a larger intercooler like the units mentioned above without a tune and increased boost? I know they are all improvements over stock... but for the time being until I tune will I regret anything? More lag? IDK. Thanks guys...

You will decrease the stress on your turbos by upgrading the intercooler because the pressure loss across the aftermarket ICs is about 1-1.5 psi lower than stock. If anything, you turbos should last longer.

Second, you will run cooler air into the engine consistently. We all know heat is the enemy.
