how to make e90 335i exhaust sound like e92

I have e90 335i

and drove my friend's e92 335

it was louder and better note even tho mine has golf tee mod..

If i delete the resonater, it would make same sound as e92?

The difference to the e92/e93 is the x-pipe instead of the resonator.

Well i believe him that its louder because i have a muffler delete on a e90335i and i heard my freinds muff delete on an e92 335 and its much louder and crispier.I think it is the x-pipe that does it ... go to a muffler shop and they should be able to do it for $100-200 bucks.

The difference between the two is the resonator on the e90.

I am confused so If I want to make better sound as what e92 does,

is it xpipe need to be added or resonator delete?

have a muffler shop cut out the cats, and either weld in an x pipe, or weld in 2 sraight pipes in place of the resonators.

The x-pipe replaces the resonator.

Buy a used e92 exhaust ( for sale section here ), cut the x-pipe out and weld it in. Some people recycle the OEM exhaust.

Have you considered the BMW Performance Exhaust for 335i sedan ? It replaces the resonator with an X-pipe, replaces the mufflers to freer flowing mufflers while keeping the OEM status. Of course, there's the price...$1700 for the sedan. But I plan on buying it very soon

i have the Golf tee mod on my E92, not sure if you have it done, but you can compar exhaust notes once my e92 335i is out of the shop in a week in person if you want to hear it in person. The e90 is a little quieter but with a Golf tee mod, and under WOT its not that much different i think but once i get my e90 i will see for sure

Once i get my E90 LCI m-sport in a few months, i will throw the AE Catless DP back exhaust on just for kicks .

The bmw performance exhaut for the E90 is a REALLY setup for the oem setup while keeping the bmw warranty, but its a hefty price.

Getting something like a AE Catless DP back exhaust is not only better but sounds better and give more performance for alot cheaper price.

Hard decision between the two.

Just go to an exhaust shop and have them weld in an x pipe or a straight pipes. Theres no point in trying to look as stock as possible. You wont be fooling anybody.

Shipping will kill the deal for me if I buy the whole exhaust. I am in Canada and nobody is selling their stock one here.

I never considered changing the exhaust. I think the e92 sounds good/loud enough in stock form.

That may be what I will do in the end. But I was just hoping to find a OEM one off the e92 so I can have the exact same sound, as I am not sure if after market will sound any different.

Any x-pipe should be fine. There are a couple vendors selling them, but they aren't cheap.

Does the E90 335i have a resonator/muffler whatever you wanna call it instead of the E92's H-Pipe/X-pipe whatever you wanna call it?

Or do they both perhaps have the H-Pipe/X-Pipe, except the E90 has the resonator/muffler covering the H-Pipe/X-Pipe?

If the only difference is that the E90 has a the muffler covering the H-Pipe, then it would be pretty easy to just get rid of the muffler, without hacking too deep and hitting/damaging the actual piping underneath the muffler

On the E90 335i the X pipe is the resonator.
