SSTT Limp Mode

Installed a SSTT yesterday following all steps carefully. I guess my car adapted fast because by last night it was working full force/driving nicely.

This morning I was hitting it hard and after a few 0-60 runs, i let off the gas sharply to have the "engine malfunction" light flash on the OBC and the car went into limp mode.

Anything I should worry about? After a restart the car was fine and working properly. I drove it cautiously but started to push it and the car didnt go back to limp.

I thought that the sett would throw the tuner code on newer model cars. Be careful that you get it scanned and cleared before going to the dealer.

Could be tons of things. You need a BT scanner.

i have been driving it for 2 days now, both moderately and pushing it sometimes - no limp mode. Must have been a freak occurrence. Its a early '07 model.

Should I worry about warranty or you think they wont detect it??

I was thinking of going into dealership to get oil cooler retrofit (i have a early prod step/sports package, so qualify)

Careful..

I had the same thing happen to me long time ago with the SSTT, even though it only happened once, I still had a "Excessive Air Flow Mass" code stored in the DME and the next dealer visit was not a pleasant one.. I got away with a slap on the wrist...
Make sure you scan this car and delete any codes.. Do not assume it's fine just because the car is not limping anymore.

I think CBS stands for condition-based service check. Just means that they scan for service-related info to see if any additional work needs doing. Still, always take your SSTT out when you go in for a service - you're better safe than sorry. I woudn't be too concerned about putting the SSTT back on. If you're worried, just get the BT cable and you'll be fine.

Mad.
