Gas stations + windshields = Bleh

Guess i should have known better, but after a lenghty road trip... i had bugs all up and down my windshield. I stop off at a gas station and notice there is next to no soap in the bin where they keep the squeegee's, but it looks fairly clean so i give her a go. Guess i was wrong

I rubbed with a lil pressure and that lil pressure was a lil TOO much pressure and ended up getting some superficial scratches in the glass...I cant see it all the time, but boy when i do...it drives me nuts!

Just a vent story, Lol! From now on the glass gets cleaned at home. Any idea if there is any product out there that you can work into the glass to help seal up the weeeeee lil scratches?

Thanks in advance,

J.

try nail polish remover. im not sure but i feel like i learned that stuff gets into the scratch and fills it up looking clear. anyone else hear that? ask around first. id feel horible if you did it and it made it worse.

I always polish my windows with Porter Cable7424 using orange pad the same way I polisg paint. It removes minor scrathes/chips and water marks where you wiper blades move. The becomes gloss and christal clean.

What kind of polish do you use on the windshield? SIP or something I'm guessing?

This is what you want:

Caswell glass polishing kit

You need a drill to use it.

Would a hammer drill (in drill mode) work ok? Or is it too fast? I might get some of this.
