Seems like the most common failures around here are fuel related (carbon buildup, fuel injectors that in turn foul our plugs)

This could possibly reduce that?

I just got all 6 injectors replaced, and if I were out of warranty this repair would be over 2,000 dollars EASY

Interesting find. I'm not a chemist but the article does mention the importance of Nitrogen and made me think about Shell gas enriched with Nitrogen. A Google search later reveals this:

Hmmm....I think I will use Shell from now on.

There is a good thread about this to clean the carbon build up by using seafoam or other dedicated products by injecting them into the manifold.

Guys, even if you fill up will shell, the gasoline will NEVER touch the intake valves because of the direct injection, so it will do NOTHING to help that issue. With the amount of blow-by gasses these engines put off, I'm sure the valves get build-up pretty quick. This process will only prevent INJECTOR build-up.

The only way to clean off the valves is either physically cleaning them, or running something through like Seafoam.

I am going to do the Seafoam clean this weekend.
