well i suppose its lucky we are at 4500 ft elevation, as that has more of a negative effect on an N/A car than a turbo car. so we did somewhat of a roll race and he seemed to have a slow steady pull on my car. wasnt like i was sitting still or nothing.
i was surprised in how my 335i was hanging. i know if we went off the line i would have a better shot cause his car just has no traction. he has an intake and cat delete other than that he is stock. would a JB3(or something similar) and say catless downpipes be enough? we only have 91 octane so that might limit my map setting? thanks |

LS2 isn't that bad, especially at 4500 feet. You just need a tune and maybe an FMIC to beat him. Throw on some catless DP's for good measure (especially above 100mph) but the LS2 is not the same as an LS3.

A JB3 map 3 will get you about even with an LS2, probably even give you the edge.
I've surprised the hell out of a couple vettes with a similar setup. Consider DCI, DPs, FMIC too, once you get the JB3 you'll want more mods Just don't let your friend mod anymore, lol |

They are tough to beat but a tune would help a lot but a DP and FMIC may be needed to gain the edge on a stock on. LS2's usually put around 350-360 to the wheels stock and 370-380 with Intake and headers from what I have seen and they weigh about 3200 if they are manuals without the glass roof and a lot of options so you would need to dump some weight as well. Back seat delete and maybe ditch the passenger seat for the next race.lol That would take off about 100lbs I think.

Sounds like he doesn't know how to drive. I beat up on C6's all day long in my 335xi from 0-60, 40-120. After 110, 120 ish, they ususally start catching up. But, since you are already at high altitude, unfortunately I dont think an SSTT will do much. If you want to properly tune your vehicle, go Procede so you can really hone in on the altitude factor and octane choice. Otherwise JB3 should do it alone pending you are they better driver.

well my car is an auto so its not like it takes a pro race driver to get my car do run good. he drives my c6 that i sold to him it put down 330rwhp, the c6 will just burn the tires off the line half way through second so i think if we were at the track from a stop me and him would be close right now (i ran a 13.4 in his/my c6 before i sold it to him) with a crappy 2.4 60' because those runflats will not hook up at all off the line.
this 335 of mine gets off the line nicely but sort of runs out of breath on the top gears (where the c6 pulls) i ran 113mph in the c6 so i guess its gonna take a couple other mods besides just the jb3 to beat him on a roll race. im guessing from a dig with the jb3 i should get him 1/4 mile but he would be close to catching up and passing after that point. thanks for the serious people that reply..
