E91 Line Up and Style
I have two questions:
Perhaps this has already been mentioned, but what is the line up for the XI series. I saw that the E91 325xi Sport Station was released. This can't be the only one, can it?? Second, when I look at the Sport Station, it doesn't look that bad does it? Black Sapphire is fantastic...though Barrique Red maybe has a certain charm when seen in person... Any thoughts?

In the USA, the first version available for the E91 will indeed be the AWD [xi]. These start production in Germany in October.
The RWD version starts production in early 2006 [Jan? Feb?], and is supposed to start shipping worldwide sometime around March of 2006. All of this and more can be found here: http://www.germancarfans.com/news.cf...001/bmw/1.html The sedans will be available with AWD at about the same time - 4th quarter of 2005 or 1st quarter of 2007. The AWD system is explained in depth in another article at the GermanCarFans website. |

The USA seems to be getting a very limited choice in E91, at least at first
But even europe dont get all E91 models at first They are even still waiting for more E90 models to be released |

I built one out on the BMWUSA site to show my wife. It was Barrique Red with gray interior. She loved it. I would prefer to wait until the 330 comes out, if they do make a 330 wagon. I guess I've still got some time to convince her.

Yes, finally there is a touring that we can configure on the BMWUSA website. I too am hoping and waiting for a 330i touring (2wd), either petrol or diesel. Preferably with ZHP. That is my dream car, having given up hope for the 335i. Happy to email a dealer with an order and downpayment today, if I could.
The BMWUSA website is getting better and better, but I wish they could do something with the paint color protrayal. Is it that difficult to load up actual photos rather than the sick looking images we currently have to suffer with? This is especially important for arctic silver, mystic blue, and both reds, which do not look at all like the real thing. You would think they could at least have a link to a photo bank with cars of the different colors. Maybe E90post could offer a link? |

stressdoc, i seriously understand your statement on the colors. I mean Sparkling Graphite looks nothing like what it is in person.
Why did you give up hope for the 335i?

In response to Imissmy325xi: I will buy an E90(1) on an ED next (2006) summer when I go for a trip with my family. I will be extremely surprised if a 335i is available by then. I suppose I could rent a car, and go back in the fall/winter if the 335 would be available by then. But the sentiment on the list for USA availability of a turbo seems less than optimistic. We can only hope. The 335d also would be awesome. I wish there was the will on this list or bimmerfest to send a petition of sorts to BMW NA. If you build it, they will come... we will buy it!!!!

I found it interesting to note that the 325 Touring in both the US and Canada will be offered in the same trim as its sedan sibling - no chrome trim around the side windows and black grille slats. Is this being done to differentiate it from a future 330 Touring? Here's hoping.

Between 3 Tourings and 5 Tourings
Well today was a strange day. A few days ago, my father wanted to buy the new E91 touring, fully loaded save a few options. But when we went to the dealership, he looked at a 530xi touring and was more convinced. In a way, i would have been happy either way, but i was really pushing for the E91. Your thoughts?
Furthermore, now he has the idea for A6 Avant and E350 4 Matic. Arrgh...BMW first..i say!
