PROcede won't connect to computer

As the title says, I've just got a rev II, none of the new CANbus features work on it, so I tried to install the new firmware and maps. I don't know it was a pre-CANbus revII or not. Is there a way to tell?

I have the latest software, but it doesn't "install" it just extracts. When I run the software it seems to run fine, but won't connect to the procede. The software says unable to open COM when i select "go online". I am running 32bit vista.

I'm in Germany, so tech call back is kind of difficult. The cable that I have is a German brand cable, in my search I found some people have cable problems. I hope this isn't the case because I don't want to wait for a new cable to get here in the mail.

The car runs fine with no CEL. However, I don't have any of the CANbus features right now, so I don't know what's going on.

Any help would be great.

Thanks for the replies, I got it to work.

If you run the procede software in compatibility mode it runs perfectly, firmware updated and 9-9 maps loaded.

Only problem is, none of the CANbus features work, is it possible I have a pre-CANbus rev II? I know they were sold that way for a couple of months.

If the wiring harness did not have "canbus" written on it, it likely doesn't have the 2 Canbus wires. This can be ordered for $15 from Vishnu and it is a very easy install on the harness - there is a video for it.

Thanks, I'll do that.

I've emailed Shiv, just haven't recieved a response. Its a 9 hour difference between me and him. I figured the eastern seaboard could help and he ain't in the Army, so a 0530 wake up probably doesn't happen.

I'm guessing you got the PROcede used, right? If so, as kenneth said, there should be a "PROcede CANbus X" label on the harness. If not, you have a pre-CANbus harness and will have to update it if you want to run any of the new features. Update costs $15 and consists of two wires that install in 5 minutes.

Yes sir I did and my harness doesn't have a label that I could see.

I sent an email to your sales dept. about purchasing the wires because there isn't a link on the vishnutuning website.

Ok good. We're surprised there are still nonCANbus rev.2 harnesses floating around out there. We assumed just about all of them updated by now.
