Autocross: helmets required?

I was going to do one of the BMWCCA sponsored high speed driving schools next weekend, but didn't know I needed a $300+ helmet to go with it. Just couldn't justify that for one weekend (and I couldn't find a shop in Ventura or SB county that had any) But as I look forward to the next event, maybe I could justify one if I needed it to autocross as well. Any experience out there?

Don't they lend you a helmet on the track or something like that.

I have an open faced helmet for trackdays, maybe you should buy one yourself as you already mentioned.

To send my helmet from my country to you by FedEx will take a few weeks I think

I found LOTS of sites online that would send me a helmet, but if I gotta wear it for two days, I want it to fit. My cousin's husband brought over his Large full face, it was giving me cheek aches in about 30 seconds. My motorcycle helmet doesn't qualify since it's not flame resistant. The Bell AR3 looked nice online.
