What would be the difference between "How would you describe yourself?" and "What would you describe yourself?" when asked on job interview.

Here's my 2 cents:
How would you describe yourself: you can actually kill two birds with one stone here... you can say you're a perfectionist (which is a bad thing) but given that you won't be pompous or cocky -- and it shows that you're a hard worker and that you like to take care of the nitpicky details... etc etc What would you describe yourself: Here's your chance to freebase and show off without going over the edge... it's served me well for job interviews with merrill lynch... hope this "helps." |

Following Shim's direction...examples of the former (how) would be "industrious, dedicated, diligent etc" and examples of the latter (what) would be "an industrious person, a dedicated person, a diligent person etc".
