BMW E92 335d ordered!

First of all many thanks to all the people (Paul330d, Gizze, Needforspeed, ...) who helped me with my questions regarding the engine, transmission etc.

I just placed an order on a Space Grey, Black interior 335d coupé

One of the options I took is the Active Steering ... I will have a test drive with an AS coupé in 6 weeks, as I still can edit my order. My current car, Alfa Romeo GT only needs 2 turns to go from completly left to right. Only drawback is at high speeds, it's a very nervous car to drive. I hope the AS will correct this

Also ordered the M sport package will go in production in March. I paid 3500 EUR for it, so I'll have to wait that long

I'm quite happy ... my very first BMW!

Cool, got all the options you listed too except the tv tuner & active cruise control.
No doubts anymore about Active Steering?

After reading almost every thread, I'm glad to read someone ordered a 335d. :-)
I ordered mine 335d E92 almost 2 weeks ago and will go in production next week for delivery in week 42 :-) Can't wait.
I haven't found any notice/thread/order of a 335d in Belgium until now.

Will order a 335d but with a e92 skin. Sadly, in Portugal the car will only be presented in 28 October. Well, glad i'm waiting for the M-sport pack to come out or i would be really pissed since the euro presentation was 23 September.

The 335D will be fast! Too bad you can't get a manual in it though.

I've ordered the E92 330d and will have delivery early January 07, but still wondering what color could be the best. I have to confirm my choice the 10th of November at last.

Congrats all.....

anyone know the front-rear weight distribution of the e92 diesels? 330&335d

It will have to do well on occasional 'Ring visits. I just cant decide between 335i and 335d. (auto tranny on the diesel, and petrol running hot also puts me off a bit, may also step down to the 330 ones)

The same? 50/50? I can imagine the massive amount of torque can be usefull at the ring.

I'm thinking of getting rid of Active Steering .... question, does someone know if the testcars (for the press) at Innsbruck, Austria had Active Steering?

Btw Marc ... I had doubts between Montega Blue & Space Grey. Once I saw Space Grey irl ... it was love at first sight

580Nm would be way too hard to shift smoothly.

There are a handful of cars out there that have near or over 413 ft. lbs. of torque with a manual. I would guess that since it comes on so low being a diesel it would just be harder for a manual driver to be quick/smooth.

From what I've heard, the 335d has 400nm available just when idling

Don't listen to the detractors I promise you that the 335d+Step combination is awesome. BMW's 6AT is the best gearbox I have ever driven - by far. Way better than the supposedly 'perfect' DSG 'box I had on my Golf TDI.

I don't know how it does it, but it seems to know exactly how I want to drive at a given moment, so much so that the Sport mode is almost redundant. It even senses when I'm driving down a mountain and holds the gears to provide engine braking. Fantastic

I do agree, but most of the sold cars will be in that color.
All my old cars where in light grey and black leather
This one could come in Black outside, saddle brown with grey wood, and of course shadow line strips
Still wondering too if i'll take the 19" wheels
