EBC redstuff or oem brake pads
Hi everyone, its time to change my brake pads and rotors. i was wondering whats everyones opinion on the EBC redstuff brake pads and the oem brake pads. just wondering what people would recommend in using. which one would produce less brake dust and which would last longer.

~ go with rotex gold pads - a true 90% reduction in dust - pad life 3 times oem... i run them on all of my bmw's ... my X5 4.4 sport had 60k on my set of rotex pads with 50% remaining.

I have no opinion of the EBC pads, but I do agree with Andrew - low dust is the way to go. You couldn't pay me to put the OE pads back on my car. I would stick with OE rotors, however.

For me these pads are almost perfect for my priorities. I have Redstuffs on my current car and liked them so much that I put them on my wife's A3 too. Here is my comparison of these vs. OEM. Note that I track my car at high performance driving schools (very hard on the pads depending on the course) and also autocross.
OEM: High dust (full track pads are worse but the OEMS are preety bad) Good grip when cold and hot Average wear I had no fade the first time I tracked my E90 (a little less agressive driving than I exercise now at track events). Since then I've switched to Redstuffs so can't gauge for sure whether they would not fade. Easy on rotors EBC Redstuffs: Very low dust (once break in is completed they throw off almost nothing unless you track the car) Less grippy than OEM pads when cold or hot No fade at any track events including some tracks that have the ability to really abuse the brakes (Road America and Road Atlanta) Appears to be a liitle harder on the rotors My Redstuffs are about due for replacement in front after 3 track days, approx 6 autocrosses, and 10K miles. I've been tempted to try and find something else with a bit more grip but am not willing to take the risk of getting something that throws more dust or starts to fade on the track. So I'll be buying my next set of Redstuffs shortly.

I have Redstuffs on my Audi and like them a lot. Much better stopping power and feel than OEM and big difference in dust. They do dust a bit during break in....but after that, they'll stop dusting.
