323i or 325i or c250cgi
Hi everyone i am thinking to buy a new 323i or 325i or the mb c25ocgi. I did go to the showroom today and find out they have a promotion on the 323i for 370,000 now which is almost $100,000 less than the other two so what do you guys think? and in terms of performance would there be a big different between them? thanks

I think MB has not yet updated the C class (C250) with the CGi engine. It is still the 2.5 V6 of the C230. (Please correct me if I am wrong).
I have both the 323i (coupe) and the C230 (touring) - what you will notice immediately is the 323 has much stiffer steering than the C class. The MB V6 2.5 engine feels a lot more flexible than the 323 due to the 7-speed transmission. The C class interior is classier than the 323, memory electric seats for driver AND passenger, headrests and steering wheel column. It also has lumbar support, auto-dimming and folding mirrors, cruise control. The CD stacker on the C-class are all MP3 compatible - the E9x only has one slot for MP3. The parktronic system in the C class is for both front and rear. The C class comes with 17 inch rims (16's for the 323 sedan), but metallic paint costs extra on the C class. I have never driven the CGi engine, although it looks good on paper, 0-100 in 7.x seconds. And yes the 325 feels more responsive than the 323 and the C230 (2.5 V6). Hope this helps!

yes, the 323 and 325 have the same engines, but the 325 is more responsive because of a more sophisticated air intake system (apologies i am not too technical, but something along these lines)...
a few more things you may want to consider: - the 325 sedan now has the i-drive system and xenon as part of a special promotion (please confirm with the dealership) - the E90 was first launched in March 2005, the new model will probably be out by 2012, just 2 and a bit more years to go... the C class was released in Jan 2007, which means the new model wont be out until 2014. - the 323 and 325 are 6-cylinder engines and have a very nice exhaust note, the 250CGi is a 4 cylinder - MB 4-cylinders dont sound very nice (I have owned a W124 E220, W203 C200K and a W208 CLK230K and they all sounded terrible!!) - the CGi engines have very low fuel comsumption - the Audi A5... no comment as I dont know much about Audis!! but also take note that the A5 is also a relatively new model - in HK, BMW recommends a service every YEAR whereas MB requires a service every 6 months. if you compare their warranty and maintenance programs, the BMW service plan works out cheaper

because this is a bmw forum, 323i and 325i are preferred
one of the reason 325 is so much more expensive is because of the option: bixenon, sunroof, foldable mirror i've no idea about the c250cgi. have been a passenger in a c280 and it's interior is very comfortable and classy, much less boring than a e90... btw, A5 is a 2 door coupe, but seems that u're looking for a 4door sedan. so is that ok for u? |
