Affirmative on the AWD for the 550i.

The new 5 Series will be offered in the United States with a choice of three gasoline engines. At its introduction, the new 5 Series will be available as a 535i and 550i. The 528i and xDrive all-wheel drive variants of all three models will arrive later in the year.
What the 550xi NEEDS is a dual clutch transmission. (M-DCT,DCT)
I will NOT buy a new car without the DCT option.

thats for sure, 550i AWD......now thats the best of both worlds!!! although, the 535i with the M package may look just as good! What do you think bobbyd ?

frankie d is in the house!!! get the 550! massive power great acceleration, and all wheel drive! not too many cars out there that compare to that! im not happy about the 535 slower acceleration. i think its because it weighs a couple hundred pounds more than the old one. but lets wait for the specs to come out.

By golly I missed the AWD 550i reference in the press release. Could be very interesting...

bobbyd do you really think the new 535i x drive will be slower then the old one. If so, I may be forced to go with the 550i x drive. Know what I'm saying..............
