How many BMW's have you owned and which was your favorite?
The title says it all. Which was your favorite and why?
1) '97 E36 M3 2) '00 E46 328I 3) '02 E46 330I 4) '02 E46 M3 5) '02 E39 M5 (still have it) 6) '04 E46 330I zhp 7) '06 E90 330I (still have it) Of course, many would say the M5, but dont get me wrong I love the M5 in many ways but for everyday driving overral I'll pick the E90. BMW improved so much from the E46 to the E90 that I dont miss any of the E46's that I had. Just waiting M3!

1. 2001 e39 530d 5MT
2. 2006 e90 330d 6AT - incomparably better than e39 in all respects (comfort, power, interior space, handling)

1. 1995 e34 525i.
2. 2006 e90 325i (current). i miss my e34. i'm a bmw nut in general, but really like the ol skool designs. imho, the e34 has a timeless design. can be a very clean ride. in the future, i'd like to get an e34 m5 or e30 m3 as a second car. the e90 was a nice upgrade though. much more refined. i thought it was a nice design in the pics, but stepping into the showroom really sold me on it. nice aggressive clean lines. the interior was nice and simple. sports package adds some awesome stuff. and of course, it drives great.

1) 1984 E30 318i 5-spd man 2-door in Bronzitbeige (my favorite because she was my very first car and first BMW - fitted koni adjustables, Pirelli P6's, and momo steering wheel - felt just like a go kart to drive!)
2) 2002 E46 318i (2.0L Valvetronic) automatic sedan in Titan Silver (nicely refined and mature - I felt I was getting older) 3) Current - 2006 E90 320i M sport automatic in Sapphire Black (this car is mature, refined but with a harder edge - just right !) |

01 530
03 M3 SMG coupe 06 550 07 e90 335 (on the boat) My 530 was my first BMW and it was instant BMW addiction. I loved it so much I wanted more of it. The M3 was great, but I tired of caring for black, and the stiff ride was somewhat irritating to my wife. The 550 was a great car, particularly on the highway. With M5 wheels and PS2 tires it handled very well, and had a ton of torque. Was near M3 fast. I see the e90 335 as an amalgamation of the best of the above. Torque like the 550. Luxury ride like the 530 and the 550. Near M3 speed and I guess better than 550 speed (Car and Driver 0-60 4.8 vrs 5.2). Near M3 agility -or perhaps better if some of the slalom and lane changing numbers I have read about are true. Oh, and did I mention all of the electronic amenities of the 550 and more? One more thing: if over time the power is not enough there will be easy solutions. With the M3 all the power is pretty much sucked out of the engine. |

2. 07 E92 335i My E36 is still, in my opinion, one of the best drivers cars on the road. Makes for an awsome track car.

2. E46 318i 3. E46 318ti 4. E90 320i Have to say the E90 is the best for me. The cars have been steadily improving but they still have the same feel. Thats the thing about BMW engineering.

1969 1602 ti
1970 1602 1972 2002 1972 2002 tii 1999 E46 323i 2007 E90 335 Cannot choose. They were all wonderful in their own ways. The 1602 ti was maybe the most fun, because it was the first; the 2002 tii was heavily modified and a beast; the 323i has been a great long term car; the 335 is awesome. The 1602 - 2002 tii were all bought used and had a ton of miles on them (150 -260k!), and were great to work on. |

91 318is AW - put 180k miles and 30+ track days on it - loved this car
89 M3 AW - replaced 318 and still have it, 8 years and counting 91 318is Sterling Silver - commuter while motor was being rebuilt on M3 (6mo.) 96 328is arctic silver - retired M3 from daily use year or so after rebuild 01 325i TiAg silver - replaced 328 (for sale right now) 07 335 AW3 - replacing 325 (on order) 05 X3 Silver Grey – wife’s car My favorite is the E30 M3. You just cannot beat the feel and looks of this car. A close second would be my First E30, the white 318is. I had so much fun learning to drive on the track in that car and it was a very reliable daily driver as well. It started the BMW sickness. I have a feeling the 335 may become my second favorite..... |

1983 E21 320i Manual Non-sport Lapis Blue/Blue cloth. What agreat feeling driving off the lot in my first BMW! It was showroom condition when it left my driveway and was wrecked by the new owner in less than a month. I never should have sold it, but I fell in love with a new E36 I saw on the delivery truck and had to let it go.
1992 E36 325i Manual Non-sport Mauritus Blue/Ultramarine Leather (see my garage). My current commuter car and still running strong. What a fantastic car. In the 15 years and 100,00 miles I've spent less than $2500 on repairs. Best compliment - in 2001 I got stopped on I-20 in Louisiana for speeding. Officer wrote up the ticket as a 2001 BMW, which got the ticket dismissed. 2006 E90 330i Manual Sport (I finally learned) you see in my signature. I've had it almost a year now and couldn't be happier. Favorite? They are all great cars in their time. I think the E90 is the best of the bunch, but I better not pick a favorite. I don't want my E36's feelings getting hurt and throwing a tantrum - she's already lost her spot in the garage.....

1. 99 e46 328i pp/sp/heated seats/fold down rear/auto
2. 01 e46 330cic pp/sp/heated seats/manual 3. 06 e90 330i pp/sp/cwp/fold down rear/manual Favorit was the 328i. It was very tossable, and felt a lot lighter than the 01 convertible (obviously) and the e90. The technology wasn't in-your-face either like the e90 ... because there wasn't any except for traction control. I've always felt the 99 e46 and subsequently my 03 A4 3.0 were the two cars I'd wished I'd kept. But the e90 is pulling up a close second. My biggest complaint is that it feels heavy. |
