Was he whacked?

I've been 100% convinced from the outset that this guy was whacked by the secret service. |

Certianly sounds plausible for the SS to have been involved.......

If you read the detail of the Hutton etc. reports of the issue - its pretty clear to me that Kelly committed suicide primarily due to Andrew Gilligan being a complete s**t and twisting his story and dropping him in it (note how Susan Watts views are quite different despite also having interviewed him - she dismissed his subjective comments on sexing up as just banter). This was compounded by the MoD personnel idiots failing to be supportive of him when placed under this pressure by Gilligan - their initial response was along the lines "what the hell have you been talking to the press for". Technically as he shouldn't have been saying the things he was saying (i.e. the subjective "I think this happened stuff") this was logical - but on the other hand showed no compassion for his welfare.
Hence he would have felt extremely isolated and professionally compromised - hence why he took his life. Whats the motive for the govt topping him? Makes no sense. As the originator of the whole episode, and taking deicisions to take out of context some of Kellys quotes - Gilligan is actually primarily responsible for his death IMO. If he hadn't done this - he'd be alive today - simple. You only have to read some of his bile in the Evening Standard to see what an unpleasant little man he is. The BBC binned him over the scandal - make no mistake he's no hero-journo in this - and the fact he gets awards these days is utterly beyond belief A quote from Susan Watts on the info Gilligan based his story on: Quote:

As much as I would like to believe that Blair and Campbell masterminded Kelly's demise to save their blushes, I cannot quite bring myself to fully subscribe to this view. Its pure fantasy. |

I also doubt that it was to save Blair from embarassment. But I do think he was killed because of something he knew. Not necessarily what he told the BBC, but what he MAY have gone on to tell them. His suicide makes absolutely no sense and from the moment I heard the news I was sure he had been killed. We'll never find out though. |

Well that's one point of view. It may well be accurate, it may not be. Personally, I've always thought there was something suspect about his disappearance and death... something that 'yet another Iraq war type enquiry' would not be 'allowed' to discover / disclose. |

He is also insulting the position of Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in prostituting himself around the world through his TBA (Tony Blair Associates) fronting company simply to make as much money as humanly possible. Mr and Mrs Blair are simply, greedy, smug and completely arrogant. I also agree he is a war criminal and should be indicted with Campbell and his other cronies. He has devalued democracy in this country and is directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Iraq and deserves to go to prison. The likelihood of him standing trial is NIL. |

How can you insult the position when you aren't the PM any more? Surely he is now free to do what he likes? Sorry, but to be a criminal you, er, need to be convicted. How can you have "devalued democracy" when you've been fairly elected three times? Deserves to go to prison..........what, for doing what he thought right? I genuinely think he was the finest PM we've had in the last 30 years, although I suspect I'm in a minority. And if you think he's crap; just wait to see how useless "call me Dave" will be. Just my views of course, no offence meant. Mike. |

Prime Minister is a thankless job, but someone has to do it.
Looks like the job took its toll as well. Or maybe sleeping with Cherie every night caused it. (See Campbell choking back the sick? ) |
