Miswah's new motor
Picked up the new family wheels this morning (easily the worst weather I have ever picked a new car up in, heavy fog with visibility <100 metres!).
Car is an A4 Avant 2.0T Quattro S Line Executive (just rolls off the tongue ). Options added are the 19' RS4 style alloys, storage pack, tyre pressure monitor, parking sensors, Audi Music Interface (iPod, USB etc), privacy glass, folding mirrors, Phantom black pearl, S suspension (lowered a further 10ml) S Line executive comes with half leather/half alcantara seats; bluetooth, cruise control, 6 disc changer, daytime running fairy lights etc etc Given the horrendous weather we have only driven the 15 miles from the dealers to our house so cannot comment on performance etc but it is the slightly upgraded version of the VAG 2.0T FSI engine that I have in the Scirocco so comes with 211bhp. The quattro four wheel drive system helps in getting the power down so 62mph should come along in about 6.5 seconds (my wife is loving the fact that she has a faster car than me for the first time!!) Anyway, the fog is clearly visible in the attached (poor) photos. Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow and we can take her out for a decent spin. John

Thanks! I have always liked the A4 Avant and now with two little ones in toe it seemed like the appropriate time to get one! SiKkBaSs is right Dave. I decided to sell the 335i (still miss it a lot ) and put my car money into a nicer family car that will get used all the time (my 335i was sitting at the airport or in a carpark all the time). I was going to get a wee second car (I did, but long story...) and then got a new job so I bought a Scirocco for myself (I would have kept the 335 ife job had come through sooner but thems the breaks). Thats it for new cars for 2009! I do have to get rid of my wifes old Honda FRV though - three cars is one too many for our little family! J

Your wish is my command, good doctor!
Cheers Helen, the compromise for me getting rid of the 335i was that the new family car had to look great and drive great on top of meeting the practical requirements of a busy family. We're very pleased with it!

My bad mm then, maybe its changed on the 2010 model, but im sure there was people moaning about not being able to get the 10mm lowered suspension with the bigger wheels, not that it matters anyhow...

That looks the business. Really nice looking motor. A guy downstairs at work has one (not sure of the spec but looks very similar) which I'm always admiring.

You could be right matey - I will check it out. As you say, not that it matters too much anyway...it was a no-cost option and I went for it as it would improve the driving experience. As my wife will be driving it most of the time I will not be too fussed if it does not have the S suspension.

Love the wheels. What size? What's the bolt pattern and the offset? Would they fit an E90? Do they crack? (just kidding)

Cheers Steve. The official figure is actually 6.7 but my Scirocco is supposedly 7.0 and all of the reviews have it in the mid-sixes. I am guessing that with the slightly more powerful version of the 2.0T engine and the 4WD the Audi might be a little quicker than advertised.

Would it be sacrilege to put Audi wheels on a BMW?
