Has anyone removed the airbag stickers from the sun visors?

I did it on my X, but that had a "mouse-fur" headliner material that's completely different from the material in the 3. Can it be done? Those stupid decals are so garish and ridiculous.

I asked this earlier with no response so I just went ahead and used the same procedure as the old E46 tip using Goof-Off.

You put some of this product on a cotton ball and wipe it on the sticker. It breaks down the adhesive and you should be able to pull off the sticker.

Even after doing this, there will still be some adhesive left on the visor and you will see a permanent shadow where the sticker was. (At least this was the case with my grey colored visor/headliner material)

Still much better than the ridiculous stickers to me.

analogue - Thank You!! for taking the plunge and reporting. I had done this on my E39 using Goof-Off and it worked fine, but its visors were more vinyl-like. I was afraid the E90 headliner visor/material would be eaten by the Goof-Off.

By the way, where are you in cheeseland? I'm in middleton. Haven't seen another E90 yet.

I'll try to remove them tomorrow afternoon...I also use a hair dryer to loosen the glue, that helped a lot with the X.

Here in South africa, they stick the airbag warning sticker on the windscreen, it's a far better idea if you ask me!!!

It is, but then it can be easily removed. That leads to lawsuits, since personal responsibility is no longer required in the U.S.

can someone post a pic of them after removal? wondering what the shadow looks like. when i had a tsx some fellow tsx owners attempted this removal and pretty much destroyed their visor in the process. they were a bit more stuck on the visor than teh bmw ones though. not a pretty sight
